If you're in the mood for something truly special and upscale in Fort Wayne, you have to try the DeBrand Chocolatier on Auburn Road.
The exterior walls, which are a creamy-and-paper bag-colored stucco (rare for Ft.Wayne), look soothing against a coordinating stone finish. Inside - dark, fancy - a date place, or a place to super treat some very well-behaved and very deserving children.
I chose an assortment from the classic chocolate collection - 1/2 box for $19. The raspberries and cream in dark chocolate were so heavenly they gave me a tart buzz. The apricot cream in dark chocolate is to die for! But everybody has their own tastes in chocolate - look at all their offerings at www.debrand.com. The packaging completes the experience - the box and wrapping looks rich and elegant, the whole experience rivals big city and European chocolatiers. They also serve hot drinks.
